Phoenix tourism resorts to reopen amid virus scare

The Phoenix metropolitan area is set to be a busy holiday destination for travelers this week.

According to the Arizona Department of Tourism, a new quarantine zone has been established in the county for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The zone is called the Phoenix Outlet and includes the Phoenix Convention Center, the Downtown Phoenix Business Center, downtown Phoenix International Airport and a shopping mall and hotel complex in downtown Phoenix.

It’s the first quarantine zone for Phoenix since the pandemic started.

The first day of the new quarantine period began at noon on Monday, and it will last until Friday.

A statement from the city of Phoenix says the city is continuing to monitor the situation.
